Start with the venue and the intended use
Saygrass offers temporary artificial grass hire across all London: Central, North, East, South and West. Tell us the venue postcode and whether the space is being used for an exhibition, school event, wedding, corporate event or another temporary installation. Hire enquiries have their own venue-based quotation process.
Explain where people will walk, stand and sit, and whether the grass is one continuous area, separate sections or a route between spaces. A plan or photographs are helpful. Do not assume that the footprint of the venue is the same as the grass area you need to cover.
Give the fitting and removal windows, not just the event date
Include the first time the team can access the venue, when the area must be ready, the event dates and the earliest and latest removal times. A calendar day does not tell us how many working hours are available or whether other contractors will be using the same route.
Tell us about loading bays, booking requirements, carrying distances, lifts and any vehicle restrictions. We confirm access and the agreed fitting and removal arrangements in the quotation rather than promising a universal installation speed. Availability must be checked for the actual dates.
Identify the existing surface before choosing fixings
The grass may sit over an existing indoor or outdoor surface. Tell us whether it is paving, concrete, timber decking, an existing lawn or another finish, and include any restrictions on adhesives or mechanical fixings. Do not assume that pinning or gluing is permitted just because the covering is temporary.
The venue owner or manager should confirm what is allowed and any protection or reinstatement requirements. Existing unevenness, drainage, vulnerable finishes and thresholds need to be discussed. An event covering is not a repair for a defective surface, and the agreed method must suit the proposed site.
Agree edges, joins and access routes
Edges and joins affect how people move around the event. Discuss entrances, changes of level, door openings, equipment routes and the expected use of the area. The fitting and edge details need to suit the venue and any relevant access requirements.
Provide the venue specification early, including any required fire-performance documents or other system information. We confirm whether the selected grass and fitting arrangement can meet the stated requirements. We do not claim that every grass product or temporary installation holds the same certification.
What should the hire quotation include?
Ask for a written scope covering the grass area and layout, hire period, transport, fitting, edging or fixings, removal and any agreed surface protection. The total should make clear which services and applicable VAT are included. Access changes or additional work should be discussed and agreed rather than assumed.
We confirm the actual specification and availability before a booking is accepted. This website does not promise a single hire rate for every venue or take a card payment to reserve stock. A written enquiry is the starting point for checking the job.
Send a useful London event enquiry
Use the event grass hire enquiry section with your venue postcode, dates, approximate area and access information. Describe the existing surface and any restrictions. The button explains whether the enquiry is being sent online or prepared in your email app; a prepared email must be sent to complete the request.
You can also email info@saygrass.co.uk or call 07360 277510. Our AI assistant may answer first. We will confirm the arrangements and quotation for your event separately. For a permanent garden lawn instead, use our artificial grass installation service and free site-survey booking.
